These terms form a contract between you and Skypost (“we”, “us”) for the use of skypost.co.uk, the Skypost app and the Skypost API (the “service”). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle personal data.
Skypost lets you upload files into folders and share them using three access words or a secure link. Folders expire after a period that depends on your plan, as shown on our pricing page. Anyone who has a folder’s access words or link can view and download its files, so share them only with people you trust.
Skypost is a transfer service, not a backup service. Always keep your own copy of anything you upload.
You keep all rights in the files you upload. You give us permission to store, encrypt, copy and transmit them only as needed to provide the service to you and the people you share with. You confirm you have the right to upload and share them.
You must not use Skypost to upload, store or share anything that:
You must also not try to break, overload or get around the security or limits of the service, or use it to send spam. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules, and we will report child sexual abuse material and other serious crime to the relevant authorities.
If you see content that you believe is illegal or breaks these terms, use the Report option on the folder page or email [email protected]. We review reports promptly and remove illegal content when we become aware of it.
If we remove your content or restrict your account and you think we got it wrong, email us and we will review the decision. You can also email us to complain about how we handled a report or about any other part of the service.
Files are encrypted at rest, but Skypost is not a zero-knowledge service. Authorised staff may access files where necessary to meet legal obligations, investigate abuse or maintain the system. We cannot guarantee that no third party will ever gain access, especially if access words or links are shared.
If you are a consumer, you have the right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to cancel a new paid plan within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. Email [email protected] to cancel.
Because your plan starts straight away at your request, we may deduct an amount for the time you have already used before refunding the rest. We will refund you within 14 days of your cancellation, using the payment method you used. This right applies to your first purchase, not to later renewals.
If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says we must provide the service with reasonable care and skill, and that digital content must be as described and of satisfactory quality. Nothing in these terms affects those rights. Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) can explain them.
We work to keep Skypost available but may need to pause it for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We may change or improve features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what your paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and receive a refund for any unused period you have paid for.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.
If you are a consumer: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for loss caused by you sharing access words, links or account details, or by not keeping your own copies of files.
If you are a business user: we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in that period and £100.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users or the service. Where it is appropriate and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close a paid account without good reason, we will refund the unused part of your subscription.
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or the service. We will change the “Last updated” date, and tell account holders about significant changes by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can close your account before then.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or in Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem.
